Mansfield's New Stadium Saves Its Biggest Nights for After the Home Team's Season Ends

"I am happy to proclaim, it is soccer time in Mansfield, Texas," Mayor Micheal Evans said at the July 1 ribbon-cutting for Texas Health Mansfield Stadium, as the Fort Worth Report recorded it. The 7,000-seat stadium off Texas 360 opened as the permanent home of North Texas SC.

Three months later, the busiest stretch on the stadium's calendar is still ahead, and the home club won't play in any of it. North Texas SC's season is over. The fall schedule belongs to visiting teams: national women's rugby, a college conference tournament and World Cup qualifying. For now, the building works mostly as a rental venue that brings in outside events, and the district meant to surround it is mostly still on paper.

The home club's season ended on September 20

MLS NEXT Pro wrapped its 2026 regular season with Decision Day on Sunday, Sept. 20. North Texas SC finished 10th in the Western Conference with 40 points and an 8-10-10 record. That was one spot below the playoff line. The league's recap said four teams went into the last day separated by a single point, competing for three places. MNUFC2, San Jose Earthquakes II and Tacoma Defiance claimed the last three, "edging out 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Champions, North Texas SC."

So the club's first season in its new stadium covered roughly the 11 weeks between the July 4 home opener and Decision Day. No playoff matches were played at 3405 Stadium Drive, and no more home dates are left this year.

The building doesn't sit empty, though. It's owned by the city and managed by REV Entertainment together with FC Dallas's management arm. At the opening, FC Dallas president Dan Hunt said the goal was for residents to see a return on the public investment through year-round programming. He described the venue as a possible "championship field for major tournaments." The fall calendar shows what that looks like in practice.

Eight event days, all in seven weeks

The stadium's event schedule lists the following dates. The 2026 Concacaf W Championship details come from Concacaf's host announcement.

  1. Saturday, Oct. 17, 5 to 8 p.m.: USA Women's Rugby vs. Italy, with the USA Women's Eagles hosting.
  2. Monday, Nov. 9: Big 12 Soccer Tournament quarterfinals, with one session at 11:30 a.m. and a second at 5:30 p.m.
  3. Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 4:30 p.m.: Big 12 semifinals.
  4. Saturday, Nov. 14, 7 p.m.: Big 12 championship match.
  5. Friday, Nov. 27: Concacaf W Championship quarterfinals, with Jamaica vs. Costa Rica at 4 p.m. and the United States vs. El Salvador at 7:30 p.m.
  6. Saturday, Nov. 28: Concacaf quarterfinals, with Canada vs. Panama at noon and Mexico vs. Haiti at 3:30 p.m.
  7. Tuesday, Dec. 1: Concacaf semifinals.
  8. Wednesday, Dec. 2: Concacaf play-in matches.

The Big 12's own schedule confirms the Nov. 9, 11 and 14 dates at Mansfield. The stadium calendar is the place to check for any events added later.

Why the Thanksgiving weekend matches carry the most weight

The two quarterfinal days fall on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, and they matter more than most international dates. Under Concacaf's format, the eight-team championship is a straight knockout. Each quarterfinal winner moves on to the semifinals and also qualifies directly for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. Losing teams drop into play-ins for two places in the World Cup playoff tournament.

That means the four matches played in Mansfield on Nov. 27 and 28 decide which four teams qualify for the World Cup. The Dec. 2 play-ins, also in Mansfield, decide who keeps a second chance. Houston's Shell Energy Stadium gets the third-place match and the final on Dec. 5. U.S. Soccer confirmed the split between Mansfield and Houston and the USWNT's quarterfinal against El Salvador back in April.

This fits what the Fort Worth Report described at the opening, when it said the stadium was scheduled to host the U.S., Mexico and Canada women's national teams in the coming year. The same article noted that the venue was the Czech national team's training base during the World Cup group stage. In both cases, the stadium's highest-profile use has come from booked events, not from the home club's schedule.

The district around the stadium is still mostly plans

The city presents the stadium as the first piece of the Staybolt Street Entertainment District. Mansfield describes it as a $2.5 billion mixed-use project that will add multiple hotels, a convention center, family entertainment, retail and a boardwalk park. The district runs along Texas 360 near Heritage Parkway, south of Mansfield Sports Park and Hawaiian Falls. On an event night in fall 2026, nearly all of that is still to come.

High 5 Mansfield at 701 Staybolt St. is the next piece expected to open. High 5's Mansfield page lists regular bowling, duckpin bowling, laser tag, mini golf, arcade games, escape rooms, virtual reality, food and drink, and rooftop concerts under the name Staybolt Live. The page still says only "Fall 2026," gives no opening day, and is collecting sign-ups for the launch. WFAA had earlier reported a late-2025 opening, so the date has already slipped by about a year. A local opening tracker still listed it as not open as of Oct. 4.

The hotels and conference center are further out. The city's November 2025 economic development announcement described Hotel Carbon with 175 rooms, a second 150-room hotel and a 22,000-square-foot conference center, all scheduled for winter 2027. An August 2025 Mansfield Record account of the developer's plans gave different room counts and more than 33,000 square feet of convention space. Those numbers are proposals that are still changing. In January 2026, the City Council approved a development plan for about 17.4 acres at SH 360 and Lone Star Road that includes a hotel, a convention center, an office tower and mixed-use blocks.

Restaurants and shops for the district haven't been named. The city's materials describe retail and dining in general terms, without tenant announcements.

So anyone heading to the Big 12 final or the USWNT quarterfinal this fall will find a finished stadium next to construction sites and empty lots, without the restaurants, hotels or entertainment venues the plan calls for.

On event days, the existing places nearby fill the gap

With the district unfinished, the food and activity on event nights comes from places that were already operating near Heritage Parkway.

Fields at Station 63

The sports park at 500 Heritage Parkway, formerly Big League Dreams, reopened in September 2025 with turf fields, restaurant and event space, batting cages and an indoor facility. Fields at Station 63 says it has two full-service restaurants and a full bar with beer and cocktails. Its event page says the restaurant spaces have windows facing the fields and can host groups of 50 to 300.

Mansfield's Miracle League Field opened at the same site on Aug. 18. It's a 100-foot field designed for young players with special needs. The $600,000 field, presented by the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, has a cushioned rubberized surface so wheelchairs and walkers can roll straight onto it. League play starts in March 2027. The Mansfield Record reports free open houses and clinics at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 and Nov. 17, with more monthly dates through February. The Nov. 17 clinic falls in the week between the Big 12 championship and the Concacaf quarterfinals.

East Broad Street and US 287

For a meal before or after a match, there are established places a short drive away:

  • Boss Burgerz, 3141 E. Broad St., Suite 205
  • The Mill, 3030 E. Broad St., Suite 100, for breakfast, brunch and lunch
  • Five Guys, 3000 E. Broad St.
  • McAlister's Deli, 1735 E. Broad St.
  • Flix Brewhouse, 416 U.S. 287 Frontage Rd., with full-service dining and beer brewed on site

The Mill is a daytime spot, which works for the noon Canada vs. Panama match on Nov. 28. The 7:30 p.m. USWNT match on Nov. 27 makes more sense with a dinner stop.

Getting there and parking

The city says visitors will reach the district directly from Toll Road 360 and that it is working with REV on traffic management for major events. For a June community event, the stadium's guide sent drivers to the stadium lot from the Highway 360 access road, about half a mile south of Fields at Station 63. No general parking capacity, event parking price or transit option has been published. The stadium posts directions for each event, so its page for a specific match is the best source for that day's parking.

Many of the events that pay for the stadium, fill hotel rooms and bring in sales tax are booked in from outside Mansfield. The fall 2026 calendar shows this most clearly.

As the hotels, conference center and High 5 move from plans to openings, the Texas 360 corridor around Staybolt Street will keep changing. The Bauer Group follows those changes along with the rest of the Metroplex. If you'd like to know how the district's progress is affecting the area around Heritage Parkway and Lone Star Road, our team is happy to talk it through.
